Datalogic DS6300 Unattended Scanning System at JaguarJaguar’s Halewood plant has one of the largest installed base of DS6100 laser scanners in the UK. The scanners provide vital production tracking information of its successful X-type model as it passes through the assembly plant.

DataScan Systems Limited has secured a major contract at Jaguar Halewood, Merseyside, with their brand new service offering Scan-Care.

Scan-Care, the new and innovative, full service ‘Auto-ID’ maintenance agreement, is covering their DS6100 Fixed Position Bar Code Scanner together with a variety of Hand Held Bar Code Readers, as used on the Jaguar X-TYPE range.Two barcodes are used on the X-TYPE from initial issue of the cars personal and unique VIN number, to finished production, enabling ‘tracking’ of the car on its journey to completion.

DataScan Systems Limited, based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, have established themselves as key players in the ‘Auto ID’ marketplace since its inception in March 1997. They enjoy QP (Quality Partner) status with Datalogic and are the sole UK distributor for Escort Memory Systems (EMS) of California, USA.They have worked with Jaguar for some time now and see this new added value service as an ideal progression in their client relationship.

At DataScan, every piece of equipment is labelled with a Scan-Care contract number and held within the database of their dedicated and proven hotline system.

By utilizing the Scan-Care cover, clients are benefiting from one point of contact, dealing with the same account manager that provided the equipment initially.

Scan-Care cover is live upon receipt of one annual payment, covering all breakdowns for a full twelve-month period, and involving only one purchase order!

This is where Scan-Care has successfully fulfilled the gap in the marketplace today.

Scan-Care really does fulfil guaranteed turn-around times – If DataScan are unable to repair the product within the agreed timescales, they will supply the client with a replacement, free of charge, until the repair is complete.
